Recently I went on a road trip to celebrate my 65th birthday. Part of the adventure was to Point Reyes (north of SF). As I walked a long empty beach, whole sand dollars kept appearing at the tide line. My hands quickly became full with the delightful treasures! So, I set up a little camp for my cache. Walking along in the fresh salty air, thanking my lucky stars, the overflowing feeling of abundance and plenty filled me up. By the end of this magical experience 65 sand dollars were beautifully displayed on my driftwood ‘table’. Have a piece of peaceful goodness!

Ocean Relic
9" diameter x 2" $225 Made on an old tin mounted upon found metal from my local beach, enhanced with aqua wash. Sea glass, ceramics, vintage doily, beeswax, page from an old Japanese inspirational journal, a small bottle with sand, stamp, button.

Shell Relic 7 1/2" x 6" x 1 1/2" $225 Made with two small silver plated shell trays painted in shades of aqua. The central medallion are Indian coins from 1884! And pages from an old Japanese inspirational journal tinted blue and melted beeswax.

A thin round tin with small cutouts and indentations came my way that was perfect to mount an Aqua Delight on. I treated the main surface with a stenciled wash. Found marbles, buttons and good luck coins fill the outer circle. The adorned tin is mounted on a large wooden good luck coin that hung in my studio forever. It’s the perfect diameter and good energy, so I gave it up for ‘the cause’.
